I am interested in forming new working relationships with filmmakers, artists and documentary makers. What I am passionate about is collaborating with the Director to create an individual style, look and mood for their film, documentary, art piece or TV programme that is in line with their hopes, ideas and vision for their project.
I began my career 19 years ago after completing a Diploma in Media Techniques at Griffith College Dublin. I then got involved in shooting observational documentaries on a diverse range of subjects from the Irish Graffiti scene (Outlines)2005 to a Screen Ireland (Irish Film Board) funded documentary (Identities) 2008 which documented the lives of members of the LGBTQ community in Ireland this film went on to win awards for Best Documentary Gaze Film Festival 2009 / Human Rights Film Award Irish Council for Civil Liberties 2009 and screened at festivals worldwide including the L.A. Irish Film Festival.
Over the past 10 years I have made numerous trips to India to shoot documentaries on Spirituality (Where the Darkness has to Run) and India's waste problem (The Garbage Girls) I learned a lot on these trips, to work closely with the Director, to be decisive, to create sequences on the fly, to follow story, and to work under pressure in extreme conditions.
I have experience working all over the world providing Cinematography and Camera Operator services for numerous production companies and television channels including RTE, TV3, TG4, UTV, BBC and Eir Sport and I have been a Cinematographer on documentaries funded by Screen Ireland (Irish Film Board), The Broadcasting Authority of Ireland and the Arts Council.

DRAMA
Ahimsa / 2023 / Cinematography / short film / Ruhi Films / Directed by Katie McNiece / in post production
Weathering / 2023 / Cinematography / Directed and Choreographed by Mary Wycherley. Conceived together with cinematographer Raja Nundlall as a multiscreen work, Weathering navigates the boundary between film and live performance, immersing the audience in the work’s point of departure – the striking and poignant landscape of The Gearagh / An Gaorthadh in Co. Cork – an 11,000 year-old submerged glacial Irish woodland. This last surviving full oak forest in Western Europe was felled for the building of electrical dams in the 1950s. / / Arts Council
Far Flung Dances / 2020 / Cinematography / Directed and Choreographed by Mary Wycherley. A poignant and timely reflection through the eyes of a child on our human impact on the natural world. The legacy of our time is the challenge for generations to come. Understanding our human impact on the natural world and environment the film negotiates time, scale and innocence while reflecting on ways of seeing, belonging and connecting to our natural world.
